Today Dr. Wike's class took a trip to SRS and visited more wetlands. We saw the retention basin and the water cells that the water basin flows into. Its amazing how nature can help clean up our mess. The water cells contain plants that suck up many of the heavy metals that the retentin basin drains off.
We also went to the Three River Landfill and learned that they are planning to incorporate a recycling part. A machine, brought from Disneyland, is used to seperate the waste that can be recycled. I think that it is a great idea. So many of the things we throw away can be recycled or burned to make energy, and we just take it for granted.
